We are committed to investing in our people and pride ourselves on outstanding customer service, product expertise and long-term career opportunities.

Job Purpose

To support the sales team by demonstrating agricultural machinery and precision farming technology to customers, while developing the skills and knowledge required to progress into a full Agricultural Sales role.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing role requiring a strong background in practical farming and machinery operation, combined with a proactive, sales-driven mindset. You will play a key role in showcasing equipment performance in real working conditions and promoting the latest advances in precision agriculture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-farm demonstrations of tractors, telehandlers, cultivation equipment and grassland machinery.
  • Set up and operate machinery to a high standard, ensuring optimal performance during demonstrations.
  • Support the sales team with customer visits, enquiries and follow-ups.
  • Assist in identifying customer needs and recommending suitable machinery and technology solutions.
  • Promote and demonstrate precision farming systems (GPS guidance, telematics, ISOBUS, data platforms, etc.).
  • Prepare machines for demonstrations, including pre-delivery checks and safe transport between sites.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers, offering knowledgeable and practical advice.
  • Represent the Haynes brand professionally at farm visits, shows and events.
  • Stay up to date with new products, machinery innovations and precision farming developments.
  • Work closely with service and parts departments to ensure excellent customer support.
  • Maintain accurate records of demonstrations, customer interactions and sales activity.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Extensive hands-on experience operating a wide range of agricultural machinery across different farming operations (e.g. arable, grassland, livestock).
  • Strong practical understanding of modern farming practices and seasonal operations.
  • Interest in machinery sales and a motivated, sales-oriented mindset.
  • Good working knowledge of precision farming technologies (GPS guidance, mapping, variable rate applications, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confident working independently and as part of a team.
  • Full UK driving licence (category B).
  • Willingness to travel across the region and work flexible/seasonal hours.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Desirable

  • Previous experience in an agricultural sales, demonstration or customer-facing role.
  • Familiarity with brands such as New Holland, Case IH, JCB or Kuhn.
  • PA1/PA2 certification or telehandler/forklift qualification.
  • Basic IT skills and experience with digital farming platforms.
  • Trailer licence (BE).

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary (dependent on experience).
  • Company vehicle (for business use).
  • Full product and manufacturer training, including precision farming systems.
  • Structured career development pathway into Agricultural Sales Representative roles.
  • Ongoing support and mentoring from experienced sales professionals.
  • 22 days annual leave + bank holidays.
  • Contributory pension scheme.
  • Employee discount on parts and machinery.
  • Opportunity to work with leading agricultural brands and cutting-edge technology.
  • Long-term, secure employment with a respected, family-run business.

Career Progression

This role is designed as a stepping stone into a full Agricultural Sales position. With the right attitude and performance, you will have the opportunity to progress into a territory-based sales role managing your own customer base.
