Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and ambitious Service Reception Team Leader to support our Automotive Aftersales team and help strengthen the customer experience at the front of house.

You will oversee a team of four Service Advisors, ensuring consistent performance, high service standards, and smooth daily operations, while working closely with senior management on wider departmental objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the Service Reception team to ensure efficient, professional customer service delivery.
  • Manage day‑to‑day operations at the service desk, including greeting customers and scheduling appointments.
  • Identify and promote additional services or products to maximise revenue opportunities.
  • Oversee financial transaction processes, ensuring accuracy and appropriate controls.
  • Assist customers with mechanical queries or concerns, providing informed guidance when required.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members to strengthen service standards and technical understanding.
  • Maintain organised records of customer interactions, appointments, and sales activity.
  • Ensure the reception area operates in line with health and safety requirements.

Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience in customer service roles, ideally within an automotive or technical environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, guide, and support a team.
  • Mechanical knowledge highly desirable to assist with customer queries and liaise with workshop staff.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a confident, professional manner.
  • Ability to handle payments accurately and securely.
  • Demonstrated ability to upsell services or products in a service or retail setting.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
